The Nackback is a 3D printed mod kit for other Elgato Prompter, a teleprompter designed for influencers, content creators, and video nerds.
The main purpose of this kit was to better support creators who wanted to record portrait oriented short form content and often use their only camera for both live streaming and pre-recorded content.
With the lens mount faceplate adapter, you can flip the Elgato lens mount plate upside down, enabling you to pull the camera up and off the prompter, which wasn’t possible with the stock configuration. The redesigned, rotatable L-bracket supports both landscape and portrait oriented recording, while also giving you access to the SD card and battery door on the bottom of the camera.
Here is a list of the improvements made by this kit:
- Redesigned, rotatable L-Bracket: The newly designed L-Bracket is thinner, allowing for the bracket to be rotated to support portrait recording. This bracket also allows you to access both the battery and SD card tray doors on the bottom of most cameras.
- Newly Designed Lens Mount Adapter: The faceplate adapter allows you to flip the Elgato lens mount plate upside down, which means you can drop in the camera from the top, instead of having to remove the old bracket and install from the bottom. This is great for creators who often remove their camera from the prompter to use it for other things.
- Brand new portrait-style spacers: If you are someone who likes to record portrait content with your prompter, the kits with the new L-Bracket and the Portrait Spacer provide additional support for the camera when rotated.
- Hole Cover: With the new faceplate, you are able to use the hole cover piece to stop light from entering the prompter. This is great for when you're using the camera someone else, but still want to use the prompter as a second monitor or for calls.
- Custom Thumb Screws: A 3d Printed housing that is paired with a knurled 1/4-20 thumb screw, making it painless to work with the Nackback when changing parts are making small adjustments.
