Before you buy a mod kit, there are a few things to be aware of. I want to make sure you understand the caveats and limitations of these kits.
1️⃣ You must have already purchased or acquired an Elgato Prompter for this kit to work the way it’s designed. Not only would purchasing this key be a complete waste of your money, you wouldn’t have the Elgato step-up rings or lens mount plate that this kit requires. This kit is designed to be used with the step-up ring adapter and lens mount plate included with the Elgato Prompter Kit.
2️⃣ Do not mount any of the 3D printed hardware directly to a tripod, 360 ball-head, or other camera mount. Mount the prompter to the arm/tripod. While I designed and printed these brackets to be as sturdy as possible, it doesn’t mean they are unbreakable. The L-Brackets are strong enough to support the weight of the camera, but they cannot support the weight of camera + Prompter. Using the Elgato lens mount plate means half the weight of the camera is supported by the plate, and the other half by the bracket. If you decide not to use the lens mount from Elgato, you risk the life of your equipment!

3️⃣ I can’t guarantee that this kit will fit your camera & lens perfectly. Prior to launch, these kits were sent to 11 different people to use and test with their cameras. I specifically brought on beta testers with wide ranges of camera bodies and lenses to test with to get as much data as I could. 6 of those testers provided feedback on the compatibility of the kit with the equipment they had. Read the survey responses from the beta testers or see their summaries of testimonials below! If you purchase a kit and it does not fit with your camera and setup, please email me at [email protected] so I can resolve.

4️⃣ Beta testers reported slight incompatibility with camera cages. The most difficult part of designing this kit was dealing with height restrictions, mainly with the location of the mounting screw. There isn’t a lot of wiggle room. If you happen to use a cage on your camera, you might find that certain body and lens combinations doesn’t fit quite right. They add additional height and girth to the camera, which I chose not to accommodate for when designing this kit. With a few tweaks, it will still work, but wanted you to be aware regardless!
<aside> 💟 MatsuXL Do it. 100% I love this kit. Not only does it feel secure, but because it's so easy to access my camera I can now take my camera in and out whenever I want to stream OR use it for a photo/video gig. I'm surprised Elgato hasn't called you for a design job yet!

<aside> 💟 NerdyNetty I only have the one criticism of the screw to secure the camera wasn't quite fitting properly. Other than that, the whole kit with the guide makes it all a dream. I appreciate you making this for creators, and thank you for having me be a part of the testing!
